Thy Will Be Done

Can't help but capture this photo this afternoon using my phone in the middle of EDSA in Manila...a powerful line from the Lord's prayer "thy kingdom come, thy will be done". Some interprets this as the Lord's commitment on His second coming but for me we can apply this phrase to our everyday lives.
The phrase is so powerful that it means one person "firmly" commits to a particular goal, objective or request. Like fulfilling an agreement, "this is what we have agreed and committed, thy will be done!" It's like you're so certain and clear that you will perform your commitment no matter what and whatever it takes.
People these days are not pleased with their lives, they tend to change, they tend to dream and commit but at the end of the day, most of the time, they fail to achieve. There's nothing wrong with dreaming, but i don't see the point of the dream if you don't accomplish.
I admire those people who use phrases such as "I guarantee, I am sure, 100% , rest assured or i am certain", it displays one's strong character and credibility." It's true that action speaks louder than words but based on my experience, statistically, most people, if not all, who use those words are finishers. Notice that friends most of the time use the line "i promise" or "later", those are very intoxicating words...it means never.
Just a thought...

DMH Studios, Inc. - Initial Revenue Stream
Since i am still in conceptualization stage, this week, i would like to share some of my ideas, products and services on my mind at the moment in DMH Studios, Inc.
With my recent experience of selling DSLRs of my friends (no profit for me) =), i've sold four cams in a span of just a month then add my experience of promoting over the web, my initial revenue stream will be the retail of photography and music merchandise items. Coming soon...

DSLRs

Camera Accessories - Lens, Filters, Remote, Tripod, etc.

Musical Instruments - Electric Guitars, Acoustic Guitars, Keyboards
Music Accessories - Amps, Effects, Mixers, etc.
I've been talking to suppliers already and considering importation to look for the lowest cost possible thus will allow fair margins. Still thinkin' about my competitive edge, one idea is selling vintage items and/or surplus items. Cheap but good quality...
This is only initial...will share my next steps and next products/services on my next blogs....see ya!

The Birth of DMH Studios, Inc.

This photo above is what i envision in the near future. I have been affectionate with minimalism and elegance ever since and this is going to be the lobby of my studio.
For me, like i said before, there are two criteria when choosing a new venture, 1) it should be something that i love or that i am passionate about, 2) it should be quick to implement and produce quick results meaning you'll know right away if it's profitable or not. Any of the two will definitely make me decide if i am going to proceed or not.
Three of my major businesses right now are something i love to do or had quick results 1) blogging/writing - this blog http://www.dennismhilario.com and one more i don't share here, 2) software business - OBCI - http://www.omegabci.com.ph 3) interior supply - http://www.dswindowsandwalls.com.
The others that i won't mention are either i am engaged only as a silent partner/consultant or just small scale.
Anyway, i am excited to share my ultimate dream business which i am definitely passionate about - music, songwriting, recording and photography. And today is the birth of DMH Studios, Inc.
I am at the moment on conceptualization stage and will write about my concepts/ideas and gradual implementation on my next blogs.

Kiss Song > Lyrics

Verse I
In my eyes i see
You're standing there and waiting long for me
We talked and you said
Your thoughts tickle up my head
We danced that night
We touched and I squeezed you tight
It seals our soul for this moment together
Chorus
Oh I never meant to kiss high heaven
Oh I have asked those little things but i felt disdained
Oh and we kissed that night and brought me warmth within
it left the rest of you to be desired again
Verse II
And yes i see
Your eyes glint in the firelight
It's dark but you smiled
Each kiss gets me another mile
It's time to take you home
I still feel high its like a fresh new poem
The taste of tears on your lips
It lingers in and it makes me wonder
Bridge
Kiss me more and to that kiss a score
Kiss me more and to that i taste your soul

Camsur Trip - Night Photography
Got back at CWC from Legaspi City at around 8PM. Took some time to do a night photography with Byron and Ebet. Had food and drinking session afterwards. And of course, great time with my buddies...

Camsur Trip - Legaspi City
On our way to Legaspi was cloudy and with som rain showers. We left CWC around 2PM and arrived at Cagsawa Ruins in Legaspi at around 4PM. From there we had light snack, and took just a few pictures because of the rain. It was also unfortunate for us because Mt. Mayon was covered by the clouds.

Camsur Trip - CWC Lobby

Went for a long drive from Manila to Lucena City last Fri. Met with friends for a planned trip to Camarines Sur Fri night with a few bottles of beer at home, then left early morning around 4AM.
The purpose of this trip was not only to reunite with long time friends and their partners but also do a photo shoot of the place.
This week i will try to post several photos from the trip and try to bring you to our nice experience last weekend.

Arrived at around 11AM in Naga City to have lunch and then we proceed to Camarines Sur Watersports Complex (CWC). This is the main entrance lobby.

In front of the lobby is the beautiful exclusive pool for the 5K package. Of course we didn't take that costly package and we opted to stay at the cheap trailer rooms instead.

Choose Your Fate
.jpg)
I was chatting with our US client last night when he asked, "Dennis, you choose your fate (job)? What is it?"
I said, "I would head an R&D software team that focuses on generating new software ideas, coding & development, turn it over to a support team and then think of a new idea."
He replied "You're a true entrepreneur, my boss is like that, he loves to create, turn it over to someone else to maintain and monitor and start a new project"
I said, "oh i see, just like the fate of sergey brin and larry page, founders of google, worth two billion a piece", "sergey brin is now jumping planes to take photos of africa and larry page is now building kite-powered sailboats and they let eric schmidt (google ceo) maintain their business..."
And then we talked about google.org and so on...
Anyway, he's right, i love to create that's why the title of this blog is create things! I love to create things that are my passion such as blogs, songwriting, photography, business and technology. It gives me some sense of accomplishment on every single thing i create and it makes me happy. Our firm may not be solely an R&D company yet since we have support team but I know this is materializing gradually.
Therefore, fate is not beyond a person's control, its for someone who is strong enough to be in charge of their destiny.

Work Hard, Work Late
.jpg)
I believe in hard work, but i don't believe in working late night just to finish up tasks in general that is why in software extreme programming methodology, 40 hour week is strictly employed. When people are working late, it means something is inefficient thus it should be fixed and/or eliminated.
Tonight i am working late because i have no choice but work late. Commitments should be accomplished, agreements should be fulfilled and business should survive. This is where people become great and where reputation is built.
In my case tonight, i am still up because something significant has changed. And that change makes me work at the moment because i am anxious/excited to a new business strategy/product model. For me, business is a financial and social game, it's like a betting game whereby you gamble on a strategic decision. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose and when you're on the verge of losing you have to make a bold move.
I have been winning and losing for the past 8 yrs in this company. Sometimes i win profits, and if i don't, i see to it that i will win happy customers. At the end of the day, its how you play the game...its not personal.

All Hallows
Going back home in our hometown lucena has always been relaxing for me ever since i moved in Manila for college and work.
This all souls/all saints day gave me a chance to go home once again to sit down with my old high-school friends and discuss our upcoming trip in camsur.
Drinking sessions with my buddy marco who just got home from the sea world, went to bar/resto of ebet together with the others and discussed the plans.
The most important thing for me every time i go home is the childhood memories. As they say that there is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, and the morning more fragrant than ever.

calm enjoyable driving back home
